Remarks Oblique aspect of “Adams World in a Square II” to show the world ocean without interruptions.
To achieve this goal fully, it is usually shown with a few repetitions at the boundaries of the map.
Sometimes, great portions of the land areas are deleted from the map, resulting in a a map of irregular shape.
The date of origin is often cited as 1942, but this is most likely wrong.
